Funeral prayers of martyred captain held in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: Funeral prayers of Captain Junaid Hafeez, who was martyred in an attack on a border post of the Pakistan Army by terrorists from Afghanistan, were held on Tuesday.

Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal and Minister of State for Capital Administration and Development Tariq Fazal Chaudhry attended the prayers, held in Burma Town, Islamabad

Along with Captain Hafeez, Sepoy Raham also embraced martyrdom in Monday’s attack.

Four other troops were injured in the assault on the border post, according to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).

At least eight terrorists were also killed in the attack and others were injured in retaliatory fire from the army, according to the ISPR.

The army’s media wing added that remaining terrorists withdrew across the border after sustaining casualties.
